to my blog! I am so happy you are here. Where do i start?
My name is Maritza, I was born and raised in Southern California (woot woot!). I am a proud Mexican American who is the oldest of 5 kids. I went to the University of California, Santa Barbara and majored in Costume Design. I moved to New York City while working for Oakley in 2005 with the intention of staying here for only a year. Within 6 months I met my now husband Chris by walking past him on 22nd street between Park and Broadway. I was never a believer but definitely experienced love at first site and knew that the entire reason I had moved across the country was to meet him. We were engaged 3 months after we started dating, married a year later, had our first daughter Sienna before our first wedding anniversary, had Shaiya, our second daughter, 20 months later and Soleil, our third daughter, 19 months after her. Let's just say that for 6 years, my life was a whirlwind of change and beautiful chaos. We were just blessed with a baby boy, Leo in Sept 2014, we feel so complete and couldn't be happier (especially my husband!)
I
started Milkshop in August of 2012 after a friend of mine asked me to purchase her a new fall wardrobe (thank you Paige!). With much support and encouragement from work colleagues, my husband and women
I had been styling and dressing for quite some time plus the desire to start my own business, Milkshop was born. I am so fortunate to be able to help others create their own style regardless of their weight, age or amount of money in their wallet. My favorite part of my job is seeing the look on a clients face after I've proven to them that they can pull off the look they said they could never pull off.
When I am not working with my wonderful clients, practicing the art of motherhood, ongoing interior design, writing and editing, online shopping and Bravo TV watching or trying to get my kids to eat broccoli (fail), I love to grab dinner with friends, search for the perfect chai tea soy latte, wander the aisles at Target and drink my occasional mommy cocktail.
My Milkshop blog is a place to share my inspiration, personal style endeavors and tips on fashion, style, motherhood, family, staying fit and finding happiness in all the little things and in between.
