What an awesome weekend we had. Tons of great people, great food and great snow.
We spent the weekend in Stratton, VT for Pedigree ski & snowboard shop's annual get together. They just celebrated their 50th anniversary and we were fortunate enough to be there this year. It is a family run business with 3 locations, 2 of them being in Westchester County and one in Stamford, CT. Employees, their kids, ex- employees and reps like us from all different companies get together to toast the end of the season and just have fun.
50 years is a long time and in this economy and challenging times it is rare that mom and pop shops are still around. With that said, i am encouraging everyone to shop local. Support your local retailers because without us, they will not survive. Give them feedback and a chance to win you over. I guarantee that the employees know more about what they are selling and are more passionate than a local big box store :)
